London: Folio Society, 2021. First Edition, Second Impression Second Printing. Hardcover. New. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Pasternak, Leonid. New copy in the publisher's eco-wrapping (not shrink wrap), as received directly from The Folio Society. Unwrapped to check condition and to photograph, then rewrapped. First edition, second impression of this Folio Society collector's edition. This Folio Society production of 'Doctor Zhivago' brings together the creative brilliance of three generations of the Pasternak family for the first time. Commissioned exclusively for Folio, the author's nephew, Nicolas Pasternak Slater, wrote what is coming to be regarded as the pre-eminent translation of Boris Pasternak's novel. The author's niece, literary critic Ann Pasternak Slater, has crafted an absorbing introduction that examines the remarkable poetic structure of the book, while the eloquent poems of the novel's protagonist, Yuri Zhivago, are presented in English with…

Printed in the City of London by the Edinburgh Press: Hodder & Stoughton, 1911. First Edition, First Impression First Printing. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Pocock, Noel. Humorous, illustrated, gift book with 12 delightful, tipped in, colour plates by Noel Pocock (1878 - 1949) on dark mounts. No date or printing stated so I believe it to be the first edition of 1911 rather than one of the reprints from that year. Hardcover in original pictorial cloth. 61 pp. 12 colour plates. Prologue and 12 songs to be sung to airs such as 'Nanki-Poo's Song' from The Mikado - all illustrated with b/w drawings by Pocock. Illustrated endpapers. Description:
London: Everyman's Library, 2011. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Flat-signed by Philip Pullman to title page. A fine, unread copy received directly from Blackwell's book shop in Oxford where it was signed by Philip Pullman. Hardcover in dust jacket. The book is immaculate. The jacket has tiny tears to each side of the spine head, minor rubbing to edges, and a crease to the top corner of the front flap. This is how the book arrived. Minor damage such as this is always a risk with real life book signings where the book is handled multiple times by the author and others. Most collectors think it's worth the risk, knowing the book has actually been handled by the author. The 'His Dark Materials' trilogy includes 'Northern Lights', 'The Subtle Knife', and 'The Amber Spyglass'. There is an introduction by Lucy Hughes-Hallett, and a preface by the author. This is no. 342 in Everyman's Library series. xxxvi, 1102…
