London: Cox and Baylis, 1817 First edition thus, published by subscription. HB. Half-leather and marbled boards, gilt title to spine. 47pp. H: 26cm. Nicely printed on laid paper. List of subscribers then the text of each of the three Royal charters, granted in 1598, 1609 and 1675. The text is interleaved with blank pages and there are various blank pages; the names of the Treasurer and Secretary of the subscription have been inscribed in copperplate after the first two charters. Owner's ex-libris inside front cover. Spine leather and corners have been relaid- boards are otherwise very rubbed but clean. Binding is sound; pages are clean with a few light marks and edge browning; but text has been corrected neatly in places in old pen, and some passages underlined or marked in the margin. A Very Good copy.

Paperback: brown thin card wrappers, lettered in dark brown with pasted on plate to front; stapled, oblong format, unpaginated. Consists of 15 colour reproductions (one per page) of watercolour views of Cambridge (mostly the colleges) by Quinton, and title page (no text accompanying). Good condition overall . Wrappers poor: browned with spots and marks, small chip loss to front illustration. Title page spotted (tiny pin size spots), a couple of marginal (paint?) marks; staples rusty with centre pages detached (present, with some spotting to gutters).
