New York,: Donaldson bros,, 1890.. A very nice chromolithographed trading card. 7,5 x 11,5cm. "Don't cry, Mamma has Radway's now". Small piece of the upper eight corner gone. Text in Engish and German at the verso.. Very rare. The advertised product was essentially a watery alcoholic solution of oleoresin of capsicum (cayenne pepper), camphor and ammonia, See Cramp II, p. 738.

Early literature on anthrax in bookform is rare. The present work, with an historical introductions, is a throughly analysis of the subject. Both human an animal diseases are considered. "The author, together with Davaine, established the etiological connection between the disease in humans and animals for the first time" (Wilson & Miles, 1964). Copy with ample margins, printed on vélin.-- (A minute wormhole in the inner margin of the last few gatherings, but a very good and clean copy).

With one hand coloured plate (coat-of-arm), and 324, chiefly large and fine engravings in the text. ¶ A lavishly illustrated (by M. de Ruaz) standard work on the development and history of the rupture truss from the earliest tiemes to the end of the 19th century. The contributions and inventions of all the great surgeons of the past are discussed at length. The authors themselves were the leading manufacturers of orthopaedic material of their time and renowned for their outstanding trusses.

A charming contemporary binding: full marbled calf, remnants of gilt rullers on sides, spine in compartments gilt decorated, red morocco title-label, gilt dotted ruller at the outer and inner edges of the sides, gilt edges. With a fine frontispiece engraved by B.J. Prévost, Bardou's printer's mark op title, several fine engraved headings and footers Very finely printed by Bardou, one of the limited issues of his series "Collections d'Auteurs Latin" printed on "Papier Bleuté". A famous neo-Latin poem in the style of Virgil's "Georgica". First published at Paris in 1665, and followed by many later edition and translations. The present edition is concluded by Brotier's (1732-1789) remarks on Rapin's poem and a history of the classical garden.

Contemporary marbled calf, spine with red morocco, gilt lettered, label, in compartments gilt decorated with fleurons (joints slightly worn with a small crack), edges of sides with gilt ruler; edges red.. With 12 figures in the style of Ryff on 2 folded engraved plates. Raulin first doctor at Nérac (Guyenne) moved to Paris where he became physician to Louis XVI. He was a prolific author of both theoretical and practical works. The present work, written in a very comprehensive languages, was written by order of the French Government who was alarmed by the fatal results in childbirth caused by inexperienced country practitioner. This second edition was published in the same year as the first edition (who had only 168 pp.). This work was translated into Dutch, German and Portuguese. Dezeimeries III, 787; Bayle/Thillaye II, 357. --(The first 20 pages have a light waterstain; some scattered light foxing, but a nice copy).

Witj numerous portraits of testimoners, figures and typographical decorations. ¶ Most of Rawleight's nostrums contained alcohol, chloroform, menthol, guaicacol and were sold under the claim that they would cure allmost everything. Sold under the condition "no cure, no pay". See Cramp II, p. 102.

With numerous illustrations. ¶ Most of Rawleight's nostrums contained alcohol, chloroform, menthol, guaicacol and were sold under the claim that they would cure allmost everything. Sold under the condition "no cure, no pay". See Cramp II, p. 102. A very nice and fresh copy, rare in this condition.

Contemporary half cloth, spine gilt lettered (spine faded, top & bottom sligthly worn for about 2 cm.; corners slightly bumped, but a overall very good copy). With a fine portrait in heliogravure by Dujardin. The standard work on this great French surgeon and his time, who was the first to recognize the process of metastasis, described for the first time invasion of veins by cancer. In 1825 he introduced vagical hysterectomy in France.

Reiniger et al. were renowned Austrian manufacturers of electro-medical apparatuses and appliances. This price list contains besides the description of the "Vierzellenbad", many other electrical medical appliances.-(Light waterstains and folds throughout the volume).

Berlin,: R. Reiss,, (1910).. 34 pp. 8vo (14.5 x 22.3 cm.). Original printed wrappers. With 13 illustrations. ¶ Description, application and advertisements for the various Lenicet preparations. Published at the occasion of the 82. Versammlung Deutscher Naturfoscher und Aerzte. Dr. Rudolf Reiss owned the Lenicet- und Euvaselin-Fabrik at Berlin-Charlottenburg.--(Light waterstain throughout the volume).

Scranton,: Munyon,, (n.d. ca. 1910).. 32 pp. 12mo (11,5 x 15,3 cm.). Original coloured printed wrappers. With some illustrations & decorations. ¶ A nice copy. Dr. Munyon sold his nostrums and patent medicines (i.a. Paw-Paw pills & kidney cure) in a "religious" manner. All of his advertisements show his grim visage, lifted arm, and elevated finger. His texts seem to come right out of the Bible. The medicines provided by Munyons Homeopathic Home Remedy Company consist chiefly of sugar and alcohol.
