Very Good. pp 1-208 [plates] The Sessional Papers of the Institute of British Architects formerly owned by the Yorkshire Archaeological Society. The book is bound in the original green decorated cloth with the Institute's crest in gilt on the front board. In very good condition: the binding is sound, the text is clean and complete, beginning with the list of the council and members of the society before proceeding to sections devoted to classical and religious architecture, including a paper on the Water Supply of Ancient and Modern Rome by the Rev R Burgess. The bookplate of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society appears on the front pastedown together with a 'withdrawn' stamp but there are no further signs of library ownership. This book may require additional postage for shipping outside the United Kingdom. Very Good 1866

The 'Gladstone Memorial Prize' bookplate appears on the front paste-down with Wilson's ownership signature: 'J H Wilson, Jesus College, 1936'. Bookseller's ticket from Blackwells, Oxford. Hardcovers, very good in paper covered boards, spine darkened and a couple of marks to the lower cover; internally near fine, the pages are crisp and clean in a tight binding. This book comes from the private collection of British Prime Minister Harold Wilson and his wife Mary who died recently at the age of 102. During his lifetime Harold Wilson kept the book in the Ashley Gardens mansion flat in Westminster that the couple shared until his death in 1995. After she lost her husband Mary Wilson continued to live in the couple's flat, surrounded by a lifetime's accumulation of books and memories until 2016. Very Good 1933

London: Gibbings and Company Ltd, 1901. 5 volumes, bound in blue cloth with attractive gilt decoration and titles to the covers and spines, top edge gilt, title pages printed in black and red, engraved frontispieces and a few other plates within the text. Very good, gilt dulled to the spine but the panels are bright and clean, cloth rubbed to the corners and a couple of nicks to the fore edge of volume IV, the bindings are firm, text block edges dusty but the text is clean and crisp. Railway Mail Service, Second Division Comprising New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Peninsula of Maryland and Virginia: General Order. A collection of 11 newsletters with envelopes sent to Railway Postal Clerk Mr Lawrence Ulysses in Lawrenceville, PA between 1900 and 1903. These were issued thrice weekly for the information and guidance of Postal Clerks and Postmasters and concern adjustments to be made in the routes and timings of mail handling, and conduct of staff. Also an R.P. Clerk's Record of train arrival and departure times completed by Mr Ulysses predecessor Lindon Case. The record is undated but shows that over the course of one month three trains failed to run due to flooding. In near fine condition: the envelopes are browned and a little soiled but the newsletters are crisp and clean. A fascinating piece of railway history. Near Fine 1903
