The dust jacket has staining along the spine. There is a split to the front spine edge, running half way up from the lower corner. Another split due to insect damage along the lower half of the rear flap fold. Chipping to the spine ends. Mounted to the front free endpaper is the distinctive bookplate of Newbery Award winner, Scott O'Dell. Original price of $3.00 to the front flap. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 397 pages .

Hyderabad. Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket. 1977. First Edition. Hardcover. Blue cloth. This hardcover is called the De Luxe binding on the copyright page. To the front free endpaper it is inscribed by the author as follows: "For Professor Jackson Benson with warm regards, M. R. Satyanarayana." Benson wrote the definitive biography of Steinbeck. There is a light-colored stain to the area of the inscription. Typical Indian quality of the cloth and paper but a very good copy. A 1" split to the rear hinge.
