A meticulous study of auroral observations taken from winter quarters at Cape Evans in 1911 and 1912, and from winter quarters at Cape Adare in 1911, with appendix on the natural ionisation in closed metal containers. In his introduction, Wright ascribes Simpson and Raymond Priestley, geologist for the Northern Party, for the efficacy of the arduous undertaking. Sir Charles Seymour Wright(1887-1975), was a Canadian member of Robert Falcon Scott's antarctic 'Terra Nova' expedition.
