A scarce pirated edition of an anonymous work (Copac records just two copies); no date bur Copac suggest 1710; pp.[18], 158, [2 - contents], [2- publisher's catalogue]. A fine early nineteenth century binding in full straight-grained black morocco, elaborately decorated in gilt and blind to the boards and spine; all edges gilt; pink marbled end papers. Binding very good with a little rubbing to extremities and joints. Contents generally very good; title page laid down, worn and torn with loss (approximately 20% missing) affecting a few words of the title, a few pages close-trimmed to fore-edge or running title. Inscriptions to front blank stating book was published in 1558! There should possibly be a frontispiece plate, though no present in this copy. A good/very good copy.
