Square 4to, orange eighth cloth over ivory boards, profusely illustrated, Foreword by Greg Martin, Mylar-protected dust jacket (unclipped) depicting an oval painting of Custer trying to fend off attacking Sioux, In 1872, seventeen-year old Private Bill Taylor, rode with Major Reno and his men into a Sioux ambush. They fought fiercely for a day and a half before rescue came, at which time, Taylor and the survivors discovered that Gen. Custer and his contengent who had been to their right, had been completely annihilated. This first person narrative provides an invaluable eye-witness and contemporary account of the Seventh Cavalry's demise. Exceptional condition and a highly important account.
