States that it was first published in Great Britain in 1977. This is undoubtedly a misprint since her previous novels all date from the 1990s.

London: The Folio Society, 1978 A well produced book with illustrations in colour and black and white. 192 pages. Blue cloth with gilt medallion to front board. Some random browning to foredge otherwise very good. No slip case.

London: Heinemann, 1977 His extraordinary background and antecedants, his remarkable parents, his early experiences in the theatre, his rather un-martial years as a private in the British army and his post-war success as playwright and stage and screen actor. 280 pages with b/w plates.

The gentlemen of the Academy define it 'as a small piece of furniture which serves to set the air in motion' Others prefer an 'an air producing instrument' or alternatively 'a sort of portable screen with which ladies fan themselves.'
143 pages later you should be much wiser if you can stay the pace because it's not the easiest of reads. However it is well decorated and illustrated by Paul Avril which is much in its favour.
