A superior grammar of Syriac or Western Aramaean. Its Introduction offers a history of the Syriac language. The Chrestomathy presents a selection of literary passages--often ecclesiastical or poetic--for translation practice. There is a 26-page lexicon. Overall, a Very Good copy: minor wear to extremities of covers. Prior owner's bookplate & a few small deaccession marks on front pastedown; splitting to paper over inner hinges without any negative impact on the sewing or tightness of the volume. Internally very clean.
