Light edgewear, spine ends chipped, text slightly wavy but clean, city map has a 3 inch tear neatly repaired, 1695 New York City map, and New York Hospital engraving have several short margin tears also tape neatly repaired, owner's name on front free endpaper. Book and plates are in overall sound and clean condition.

The inspiration which I received from this book won for me two trips to Europe. I hope it takes you around the world. Jan. 11, 1923 Pasteur Centennial." Author's inscription?

SIGNED by the author on front free endpaper. The author's travels around Boston and New England and occasionally farther afield.

This is the original 1870 printing, not a recent printing.
