Edition not stated - dated April 1902 to title page printed by King, Thorne & Stace, Printers Jubilee Street Brighton. A very interesting item which gives an insight into policing in Brighton at the turn of the 19th century. Whilst much of the general instructions would appertained to Police forces generally there is much which relates specifically to Brighton ie Brighton Borough Acts, Town Acts and Bye Laws including table of distances from the town hall and from various places within the borough with fares 1st and 2nd class, stands for Hackney Carriages etc. According to Baines' History of Brighton Police 1838-1967 there were 150 Police officers serving Brighton in 1902. The printer's code on the title page 1248-4/1902-250 would suggest that the print run was 250 copies.
