In black slipcase with splitting, scars and scuffing - poor.

In mauve boards, ivory cloth to spine and gilt. Foxing to page ends and a few spots to spine cloth as well mostly at ends. Jacket is unclipped ($10.95) and glossy with fading to spine and closest edges of front and rear panel. Some light foxing to inside of top and bottom jacket edges. Star printed on rear board and jacket.

Some soiling to board ends and foxing mostly to top page ends with a little to front and bottom as well. Previous owner's long gift inscription to top of ffep. Some light foxing to endpapers as well. Jacket is unclipped ($11.95) with moisture staining to both panels, and foxing to inside and flap edges. Chips at corners and spine ends with 3/4 inch tear to top of spine as well.

Tape shadows to tops and bottoms of boards and stamps to page ends. Ding to bottom rear corner. A few numbers to bottom of title page and a rough pocket/due slip removal scar to front free endpaper that is begging for a nice bookplate or photo of the legendary walker. Jacket is glossy and beautiful.

An ex-library copy that does not appear to have circulated long. In nice blue boards with dulled gilt and green to type and design motif on spine. Sticker shadows to bottom of spine and adjacent boards. A portion of missing jacket is affixed to inside of front board. Sticker and due date slip to ffep, stamp and number in pen to title page, pocket to rear pastedown, stamp and paper removal residue to rfep and stamps to top & bottom page ends and text block. Bottom front corner dinged/rubbed through cloth, otherwise in great shape - clean with tight binding.

Small chip to ffep that is glued to front pastedown. A few marks in pencil to front endpapers. Very faint spotting to versos of free endpapers and first and last pages. Front hinge has small 3/4 inch split, rear hinge is split at rear endpapers with mull showing, but still holding. Illustrated throughout and with frontispiece - some vellum overlays. Tanning to front and bottom page ends and some pages. Clean interior.Ê

Sharp corners, clean interior and solid binding. Jacket is clipped at top and bottom of front flap with several short tears, tiny chips and abrasions/holes to edges of each panel. Title a little faded to spine. Gold Caldecott Award sticker to front panel.
