Description:
Reading, PA: Handy Book Company literally translated with explanatory notes by J.S. Watson Very unusual publication information: 1. The front cover has stamped in black at the top, "Handy Literal Translations" and at the bottom Hinds, Noble & Eldredge, New York City. 2. The book was printed with the publisher Hinds, Noble & Eldredge, Publishers (New York City) and above that is stamped Handy Book Company, Reading, Penna "publisher's of all translations formerly of (Hinds, etc.) We've never seen a successor publisher handle things in quite this way. There is no publication date in this volume, but it appears to be early 1900s. None of the other volumes we found by this publisher contained a publication date. That's unusual. Hinds, Noble & Eldredge was still publishing in 1905. Handy Book Company was incorporated in Pennsylvania in 1915(they could have been in business without being incorporated.)
