There is a vertical crease to the front free endpaper, near the hinge, otherwise only minor wear. To the dedication page, opposite the title, there is an inscription dated in 1963 along with a woodblock with hand-coloring. This is by Mitsu Yashima, Taro's wife, who often collaborated with her husband. The woodblock has offset somewht to the title page. Laid in loose is a folded personal greeting card from the Yashima family. This is dated 1958 and signed by Taro. This card has a small abrasion to the upper, center, near the fold.
