Description:
[Tokyo]: The Hokuseido Press, 1935. A collection of three dramatic works by the famed Japanese writer (1887-1974). Included are"Lord Dawa," "Chink Okichi," and "Crown of Life." Translation is by Glenn W. Shaw. This is a Very Good copy of the True First Edition. [It was reprinted in 1957] A rare book. Stunning wrap-around illustrated cloth binding in red, black, white, green, and gray. Clean text; xviii, 358 pages. Fore and bottom edges are rough-cut. Frontis photograph of an actor appearing as Lord Dawa. Endpapers have some offsetting and there is some very mild bumping to the tips. The dustjacket is complete. Darkened, with edgewear. Itis quite presentable but there are old cello tape repairs to the back; this should be rectified with some minor conservation work. In an archival plastic protector.. First Edition.
