A beautiful book, in greatcondition, with it's original heavy oil-cloth dust jacket and slip case covered in the same material. Laid in in the front of the book is a typed, signed letter, on House of Commons stationery, from Sir William Brass, a member of Paliament, indicating that he and a collegue had compiled the book "in memory of one of the most moving scenes we are ever likely to be privileged ro witness." The book also contains 2 photos of the occasion and a plan of Westminster Hall. All is bound in blue morocco leather. A very fine production, indeed.. Signed by Compiler. First Edition. Leather. New York: Frank-Maurice, Inc., 1926. Song-writer Harris took up the entire front free endpaper with a pencilled, handwritten autobiographical poem. He also signed that page twice. A sample of the poem: "My first name is Chas.,my initial is K / My last name - but never mind, there is / No need in the world, I am certain to say / What all of you know it is - Harris!!." There are three such stanzas. The book is in Good condition - tight and readable. However the spine title is completely faded and not readable.
