First edition. 1934 Newbery Honor Book! An unfortunate accident with an Apple drives Bunny from Bunnyland to Elsewhere. Every letter in the alphabet is represented in Bunny's journey, through what he eats (Greens), to whom he meets (Insects, Jay, Kitten, Lizard), and then a little sleep (Nap), to Tripping back to town, right side Up and Up-side-down. Wanda Gag's charming Newbery Honor alphabet book is a wonderful addition to any collection and features the music to sing along on the endpapers.

DONAHEY, William. Adventures of the Teenie Weenies. Chicago: The Reilly & Lee Co [1920]. 4to, 128pp. Green cloth with color pictorial label affixed to the front. 9 color plates and numerous b&w illustrations. Minute rubbing to spine ends and corners, light rubbing to edges of front label, pages lightly yellowed, rear endpapers discolored where a piece of paper (obviously acidic) had been left at some point.
First edition. The first of many books featuring William Donahey's beloved Teenie Weenies. Based on his comic strip, which ran in the Chicago Tribune for over 50 years starting in 1914. This collection of stories features the tiny titular characters interacting with everyday objects as they attempt to survive in the world.

Promotional poster for Aesop's Fables by Jerry Pinkney. Measuring 23.5" x 16.5"

This poster was created in 1990 to promote the book Aida, as retold by Leontyne Price and illustrated by two-time Caldecott Medalists Leo and Diane Dillon. Aida is based on the opera from Verdi who also composed Rigoletto, La Traviata, and Nabucco in the mid-19th century. This illustration, used on the cover, is a fine example of the richness and detail that the Dillon's bring to their work. The unique marbleized pattern that was employed on the left of Aida adds to the sophistication of the piece as well as urgency to her dilemma and relentless longing. The book received the Coretta Scott King Award in 1991.
Leontyne Price's first Grand Opera performance of Aida, at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco in 1957, was a resounding success. She is among the most prolific voices in recent history. Her major honors include nineteen Grammy Awards, numerous honorary doctorates, three Emmy Awards, and the National Medal of the Arts, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

First Maraja-illustrated edition, UK issue, having been printed in Milan by the artist's publisher for the UK market. Libico Maraja was an Italian illustrator, perhaps most famous for his illustrated edition of Pinocchio, who created wonderful illustrated editions of many of the classics of children's literature. This gorgeous edition of Carroll's classic tale is bursting with color and motion and is a true delight for any fans of Wonderland.

A fine copy in original resealable plastic wrapper with original promotional sheet laid-in. Signed by the artist/pop-up engineer, Robert Sabuda.
First edition. Featuring spectacular pop-ups illustrated after John Tenniel, this gorgeous interpretation of Lewis Carroll's classic tale, with its innovative and intricate pop-ups and movables, helped establish Sabuda as the pre-eminent paper engineer of the modern day and inspired a renaissance in pop-up books.

Spine ends a tad rubbed, two tiny tears at top and bottom of spine, front hinge starting (but still strong), a few ink spots to top edge of sheets (not affecting internal pages), else a clean, tight copy.
Salesman's Sample Dummy of the first US edition, featuring the first printed signature – including title, contents, plate listing, and the start of the first chapter – followed by all 16 of the color plates, each hand-mounted on the appropriate page with printed caption. A surprisingly bright copy of A.E. Jackson's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland produced for salesman to show booksellers the vibrant color plates of this edition to elicit orders. Rare, as only a handful of copies like this would have ever been produced.

Leather a bit rubbed at spine ends and corners, spine a tad sunned, discoloration due to binder's glue around edges of endpapers, else an internally clean, bright copy. Signed by the inspiration for the character of Alice, Alice Hargreaves née Liddell, and the binder, Frederic Warde.
Limited edition being one of 1,500 numbered copies, this one being signed by the woman, who as a little girl, inspired Charles Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll) to write his immortal story. Though The Limited Editions Club originally planned to have Alice Hargreaves sign the full printing of 1,500 copies of this title and 1,500 of Through the Looking-glass, it is reported that she signed less than 1,000 in total. A lovely copy of this stunning limited edition.
