Charles Johnson McCurdy [1797-1891], the 40th Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut was, at the time of publication, a Judge of the Connecticut Superior Court. 8vo blind-stamped brown cloth lettered in gilt on front "BRITISH ADMIRALTY PROCEEDINGS AMERICAN SHIP ROB ROY"; 87 pages plus index.
