Privately Published, 1938. Very scarce, privately-printed history of the Suffolk villages. First edition of 1936 limited to 54 copies, second edition (1938) limited to 325, although there is doubt they were ever all completed. Grey paper-covered boards with black buckram spine strip, 174pp plus 30pp (unpaginated) inc index and "briefs". Small octavo second edition has frontis of the Lady Jane Bacon Memorial, b/w photograoh of Oakley Parish Church and a map of the village, but does not have seven other illustrations which were in the larger format First Edition. Page edges are a little dusty, there is minor bumping and wear to extremities and a little wear in two places where the buckram spine covers stitching, but the book is vey solid and internally clean.
