Boards covered with glossy paper showing the same full color artwork as the dust jacket, in like-new condition: no shelfwear or marks. Dust jacket has smudgey area at bottom right corner of front where a label was removed, some wear at corners and along edges. Approx. 1" tear at top, back edge of the spine; small puncture in jacket in lower half of "spine trough" on the back. Overall in quite good shape, however, and book inside is indeed Fine. Note: "BHS" possibly stands for British Herpetological Society.

Richly illustrated with black and white photos; diagrams. Fore-edges of textblock are somewhat marked, shelfworn, with two faint areas of stain that only affect the fore-edges, not the pages. Cover is black with gold and white titling, color photo. Black areas of the cover all show shelfwear, rubbing, but no pen marks. All edges and spine have been reinforced with book tape, preserving the corners, spine, and hinges.
