The sequel to the Private Papers of a Bankrupt Bookseller, a very plausible first-hand account of a bookseller in difficult financial straits. The book purports to be papers found after the unlucky booksellers' demise. The author was in fact a member of local government in Scotland at the time the Bankrupt Bookseller books were written. He later went on to be a Member of Parliament and a director of the Royal Bank of Scotland. First edition (issued without a date or a printing statement). A very good or better copy in a very good dust jacket with a bit of chipping to the top of the spine.

The purpose of the book was to provide Japanese cloth manufacturers with a reference book of Western fabric styles, names, and specifications to help Japanese factories sell to the American market. The book is printed left-to-right in the Western fashion, with cloth names in English but most of the text in Japanese. The cloth swatches measure roughly 2 by 1-1/4 inches. [14], 250, 8 pages. Uncommon. OCLC (no. 672491077) locates a single copy, at the National Diet Library. First edition. A near fine copy in a very good publisher's cardstock slipcase.

San Francisco: Los Siete de La Raza, 1970. Ephemera. Very good. A single issue of this short-lived community newspaper which sprang up in San Francisco's Mission District to gather support for Los Siete, a group of Latinos who were then under arrest for the murder of a police officer. The men were ultimately acquitted. This issue includes interviews with the defendants and a long article about a family that was victim to police violence. 16 pages, eleven in English and five In Spanish. 11-3/8 by 17 inches. Very good. Yellowing from age, as expected.

Baltimore, 1941) designed the iconic poster for the surf film Endless Summer while still in art school. As a professional graphic designer he did the album covers for The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour, the Rolling Stones' Exile on Main St, plus LPs by Big Brother and the Holding Company, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Dylan, Blondie, and even Charles Bukowski (Reads His Poetry, 1980). This is an original painting on acetate for the cover of Beans self-titled debut (and only) album for Avalanche Records, a nascent label under United Artists Records. Burroughs (and William Lee), along with literary criticism by Kenneth Rexroth, and others. 384 pages. A book that tells a story about Larry McMurtry as a book scout. While he was also a Pulitzer Prize- and Academy Award-winning author, he was, most of the time, a bookseller first. This copy belonged to the acclaimed Texan Rolling Stone journalist Grover Lewis, who was a friend of McMurtry going back to their college days. Apparently, Lewis acquired this book in 1958, when he wrote his name on the front free endpaper. At some later point, the book ended up with an antiquarian bookseller, who catalogued it as having a "name inked on front free endpaper."
