Quarto, Nancy Prevo's tale of the irrepressible "Calculating Cat", whose misadventures have here been so capably captured by Westport, CT artist Eric Gurney.

Dodge Publishing Company, 1924. Collectible; Very Good. Wonderful 1925 calendar, "The Afternoon Tea Calendar". Solid and VG+ in its ribbon-tied sheets, with very light foxing at the front cover. A different recipe ("Crab Sandwiches", "Frozen Tomato Salad", etc.) accompanies each month. ALSO INCLUDES A SOLID, WELL-PRESERVED EXAMPLE OF THE PUBLISHER'S ORIGINAL PICTORIAL BOX, which no doubt accounts for the calendar's very nice condition.

1901. Very Good +. Bertha Corbett. Uncommon 1902 calendar depicting men-as-beetles. No publication information included. The calendar consists of 12 leaves of thick tan paper (9 1/2" x 12"), bound with the original red ribbon at the top. Light spot on the first leaf, otherwise bright and Near Fine. Each month of the year features a pair of humanized beetles engaging in activities pertinent to that month. Featuring large color illustrations by Bertha Corbett similar to her Sunbonnet Babies in that you don't see the faces of the beetles. The pictures appear to be hand-colored and are quite charming. (Corbett was an American cartoonist and illustrator who studied under Howard Pyle at the Drexel Institute.).

THOUGH NOT CALLED FOR, THIS COPY INSCRIBED BY GLENWAY WESTCOTT at the colophon AND ALSO SIGNED BY PUBLISHER ("HARRISON OF PARIS") BARBARA HARRISON WESTCOTT just below his signature. Clean and Near Fine to Fine in its dark cloth, with bright gilt-titling along the spine. Octavo, top-edge gilt, deckled fore and bottom-edges. Also includes a very solid copy of the publisher's printed card slipcase. Only the 10th publication of the always-fascinating publisher Harison of Paris.

Tight and VG+ in its dark-red cloth, with bright gilt-titling along the front panel and lightly-rubbed titling at the spine. Mild scuffing to the rear panel, otherwise clean as could be, with no writing or markings of any kind internally. Octavo, No. II in the formidable "Stanford Business" series.

(The dustjacket is a stated 3rd printing jacket). Quarto, 96 of Weston's crisp, lovely black-and-white reproductions thruout.

Solid and Good+ in its pictorial orange cloth, with spotting at the panels and very light cocking to the binding. A series of names (or an inscription) has been crossed out in magic marker on the front free endpaper as well. Very interesting black-and-white illustrations throughout by CE Millard nicely complementing Monica Shannon's text.

A handsome copy of the January 1935 2nd printing (following the 1st printing by 1 month), in the same iconic pictorial dustjacket illustrated by Stuyvesant Van Veem. Solid and VG+ (a touch of light offsetting at the inner hinges) in a crisp, price-intact, VG dustjacket, with very light chipping and creasing along the spine ends and panel edges, and a 1" chip at the rear panel's lower-edge. Still though, a very presentable copy of a fragile book, a book whose secure stature as a highly-accomplished novelization of Jewish immigrant life in early 20th century New York would take several more decades to grow into.
