Description:
1901. Very Good +. Bertha Corbett. Uncommon 1902 calendar depicting men-as-beetles. No publication information included. The calendar consists of 12 leaves of thick tan paper (9 1/2" x 12"), bound with the original red ribbon at the top. Light spot on the first leaf, otherwise bright and Near Fine. Each month of the year features a pair of humanized beetles engaging in activities pertinent to that month. Featuring large color illustrations by Bertha Corbett similar to her Sunbonnet Babies in that you don't see the faces of the beetles. The pictures appear to be hand-colored and are quite charming. (Corbett was an American cartoonist and illustrator who studied under Howard Pyle at the Drexel Institute.).

New York: Robert O. Ballou, 1935. Cloth. Very Good +/Very Good. A handsome copy of the January 1935 2nd printing (following the 1st printing by 1 month), in the same iconic pictorial dustjacket illustrated by Stuyvesant Van Veem.
