Missing its jacket. The boards and all pages have browned with age. The upper board has wear and rubbing to the corners. The lower board has marks, a couple of small splash marks and a small number of scratches. The corners are also rubbed. The upper board at the bottom edge says "A Country Life book London 1939". The front free end paper is heavily creased. It has a near contemporary gift inscription from 1941. The third leaf has a handful of tiny pen marks dotted at the bottom of the page. Collins Crime Club. First edition published by Collins Crime Club in 1964. This is a near fine copy. The price clipped dust wrapper is toned to the upper edge and spine. With a couple of short closed tears to the rear panel. The book is excellent with the binding square and firm. The cloth is bright and fresh and contents clean throughout. A Miss Marple novel. Gollancz. First edition published by Gollancz in 1973. This is a very good or better copy. The Faith Jacques designed jacket is very complete and overall clean. It has been price clipped. The book has a couple of bumped corners and the first couple of pages has some patches of browning. Overall a very good or better copy.  Nina Bawden's stand out children's novel about two young London evacuees during the second world war. The gilt a little dulled. Light impression marks on the front free end paper. The wrapper price clipped with a short, closed tear to the top edge of the front panel and mended to the reverse. The head of the spine with edge wear. One of BB's most celebrated non-fiction titles, popular due to his detailed technical knowledge of carp fishing along with his superb vignette illustrations that accompany what he is describing.   . The book is also very presentable with no marks to the boards. There is a previous owner's neat name to the front free end paper. There is no foxing or browning patches and the pages are clean. It is a book in highly collectible condition. A book initially banned by the Irish censorship board and subjected to multiple public book burnings due to the sexual content and how social issues in Ireland were portrayed. The novel divided opinion: it also won awards and was recently added to a list of 100 most influential books by the BBC. A modern firsts classic and rare to find in such nice condition . Near Fine. There is a flyer where presumably the previous owner obtained the signatures. 2. The Path to Power (1995) - double signed by both Margaret and Dennis Thatcher inscribed to a previous owner. 3. The Collected Speeches (1997) signed by Margaret Thatcher without dedication. A difficult title to find signed. 4. Statecraft (2002) signed by Margaret Thatcher without dedication.
