She learns of a daisy chain that does not wilt, which is made up of kindness, patience, thought for others, gentleness, truth, and obedience, and decides that "they are so pretty to wear.".

Found in only 7 WorldCat libraries. The Sunday Dumpy Books for Children were a small format book series that was part of the larger Dumpy Books for Children, published by Grant Richards in London between 1894 and 1904. This edition illustrated by Patten Wilson (1869-1934), an English illustrator and artist. A lovely copy of a very scarce children's book, with a playful binding by Julie Stackpole.

Size: 4 ¼" x 2 ¾"; 120pp; blind-stamped pink glazed paper over board, stamped gilt dentelle border to front and rear boards; all edges gilt; small mirror to front pastedown; small blue silk ribbon pull tab to rear pastedown; engraved illustrations, some hand-colored; light scuffing to boards, light crack to front hinge but holding; lacking the slipcase; very good plus. The Almanac monthly calendar was published for women of social standing.  Illustrated with engravings, some with hand-coloring.  Both men and women's fashions of the day are featured, a listing of royal birthdays and a long selection of poetry, followed by an index.  A compact sized mirror is featured on the front pastedown.  This would have been a luxury item and one of status to carry in one's pocket or purse.

New York: The Grafton Press, 1910. Cloth. Very good +. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author to his friend Dr. William W. Grumilt (?) in 1914. Limited Edition of 100 copies. 12mo; 51pp; gilt-stamped brown paper over board, white cloth spine; gilt top edge, untrimmed fore-edge and bottom; gift inscription with author signature to ffep; scuffing to corners, light soiling to spine cloth; very good plus. Written by Dr. Francis Watson, a urologist, the play was performed at the Tavern Club in Boston on February 19, 1902. The cast was packed with Boston area physicians, many of who are remembered today for their prominent rolls in medicine. Dr. Harvey Cushing (1869-1939), father of modern neurosurgeon and author, played four of the roles. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 1926 for his biography of William Osler, M.D. Also a players, was Dr. Samuel Langmaid, one of the four founding fathers of Children's Hospital Boston.

The first work: Second revised edition. This work has been attributed to Frederic Rivet (1617-1666) who was working in the Netherlands and a member of the "Raad" (Council of State). In this position, he was responsible for much of the influence and raising of the Prince of Orange, William III, who would later become King William "Dutch William" of England. English: The Peasant's Wise Daughter 8vo (8" x 10 ¼"); 5 color pop-up plates with some movable tabs; glazed color pictorial boards; fine. ISBN: 80-85254-03-4. OCLC does not locate any copies. A version of one of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales first published in Germany in 1815, and quickly adopted into Bohemian culture. Vojt ch Kubašta (1914-1992) was a paper engineer and artist who was born in Vienna but moved with his family to Prague in 1918. Educated as an architect and civil engineer, his love was illustration and book design. Under Communism, the publishing industry was nationalized and Kubašta found work in advertising Czech products abroad. Artia, the Prague-based Czech national publishing company, published Little Red Riding Hood, his first pop-up children's book in 1956.
