Humanities Press, 1981. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. A very sharp copy of the 1981 1st English language edition. Tight and Near Fine in a crisp, Near Fine dustjacket. Thick octavo, almost 2 dozen black-and-wgite photos supplementing General Sarafis's text.

London: A. Brown and Sons, Limited, 1915. Cloth. Very Good +. A handsome, tight copy of the 1915 1st edition. Solid and VG+ in its light-brown cloth, with bright gilt-design and titling along the front panel and spine. Light bumping to the upper tips, just a touch of very mild darkening along the front hinge. Tall quarto, beautiful color frontispiece. Top-edge gilt, deckled fore and bottom-edges.

Original cloth. Very Good +. Very impressive early 20th century album (possibly 1930-31) of over 100 original mounted photographs depicting local bridges in various states of construction. Most of the black-and-white photographs are 3 1/2"x5 1/2". The album, an oblong octavo, is string-tied in its olive-green cloth. Most of the photos appear to focus on Connecticut bridges and the album was probably compiled by H.C. Orr, the Resident Engineer of Cornwall Bridge, CT. (A tipped-in May 1930 letter to him from the Commissioner of the CT Highway Department strongly suggests so). Also includes interesting ephemera discussing some of the most prominent bridge buiders of the day and some of the earliest covered bridges built in CT, such as the Lewis Bridge and the Hart Bridge (now known as the Cornwall and West Cornwall Bridges respectively). Also discusses the much-loved covered bridge in Kent, built in 1858 over the Housatonic River, and covered bridges in Ansonia (also spanning the Housatonic) and Seymour.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1928. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. Albert H. Sonn. The 1928 1st edition of one of the great examinations of early American wrought iron. Complete in 3 volumes and including the fragile, very uncommon dustjackets. Each volume tight and Near Fine, with no writing or markings of any kind internally. And each in a crisp, price-intact, VG- to VG dustjacket, with varying amounts of light, forgiveable chipping along the panel edges and the spine ends. A bit of light soiling and spotting as well to the front and rear panels in addition to several small closed tears, Still though very presentable and uncommon as such, in the original dustjackets. Tall, uniform quartos, "with three hundred and twenty plates from drawings by the author". And finally, a nice piece of laid-in ephemera accompanies this copy, a charming 1 pg. Comprehensive and sweeping, with particular focus on the settlers and Indian fighters of the region. Skillfully re-bound (and with new endsheets) in a beige cloth, with bright gilt-lettering at the spine. Light soiling to the panels and former owner bookplate at the front pastedown. Apparently de-accessioned from the Chicago Historical Society, with their small, subtle blindstamp at the title page and unobtrusive numbering on the "Preface" page. Tight, solid and VG. Thick octavo, 844 pgs., including a number of illustrated plates. Also includes an unprinted, custom-made linen dustjacket with matching cloth slipcase. Very impressive example of early Texas history. (Howes-797).

1960. Photograph. Very Good. Very early signed portrait by 20 yr. old Larry Fink of his 16 yr. old sister Elizabeth, who went on to become a renowned Civil Rights attorney, defending, among others, a number of the inmates from the 1971 Attica Prison Riot. Possibly Larry Fink's earliest work on the market. The photograph measures 9" wide x 10" tall and is signed and dated by Larry Fink in the matting. There's a bit of light streaking in the photo but it remains bright and crisp and very presentable. With a superb provenance (supplied on request).
