Features two poems by Charles Bukowski "Freedom" and "True Story." Also poems by Steve Richmond and John Buckner. Very good, with no real wear except faint but prominent speckle stains on front and back covers. An ephemeral item, somewhat uncommon: a dozen found on WorldCat.

Washington DC: The Library of Congress, 1992. First edition. Talks presented during National Book Week 1992 by the winners of the 1991 National Book Awards. Residue from a sticker on the reverse, otherwise fine. Twelve pages from Levine on his beginning years as a poet, interesting biographical content.

He would win the Pulitzer Prize for his next collection in 1987. Fine in a very near fine dust jacket (in removable archival protective covers). Meredith won both the Pulitzer Prize and The National Book award and was Consultant to the Librarian of Congress.

Handprinted, designed and illustrated by Karyl Klopp. One of 400 copies (an additional 50 were signed and numbered). Nine women poets: Wakoski, Spivack, McKim, Piercy, Mazur, Kumin, Fanny Howe, Ruth Whitman and Gallagher. Unusual and lovely fine press work by a master. Label creased, else near fine. Despite the limitation seemingly scarce.

The wraps have suffered from their size, with edgewear; about very good. Laid in, the 1969 catalogue of the press, a single sheet done in letterpress (broadside), quite lovely and early in the life of the press (a few titles already o.p.).

Middletown, CT: Wesleyan University Press, 1996. First Edition. Black cloth white spine lettering; 8vo. 69 pp. Foreword by W. D. Snodgrass who was a fellow student at Iowa. Posthumously published collection; Dickey died of AIDS in 1994. A scarce book, published simultaneously in paper, the cloth scarce. This volume includes his "The Death of John Berryman", first published here in book form. Cloth edges rubbed, else fine, presumably published without a dust jacket.

One of 50 copies specially bound with French marbled papers (of 1200 in various configurations, including 700 in paper), volume 5 in the New Poets of America Series. Out-of-series copy: neither numbered nor lettered. With a long forward by John Logan. The poet/novelist's first collection. An attractive production, the bottom edge lightly worn.

New York: New Directions, 1986. First Edition. Page proofs, long folded and gathered (unbound) sheets. Accompanied by a reproduction of an early review and a "compliments of the publisher" card conveying this "at the request of Bob Philips [the editor, and executor of Schwartz's estate]". The envelope from the publicity department is postmarked in May; it seems likely that this was sent from the publisher to rather late in the game, that is not for publicity or review purposes but for someones collection. Nevertheless a rare and very early state of the publication. This was a posthumous publication of essays, found in the author's literary estate held at Yale. Very good, the envelope worn.

Eleven poems by Malcolm Cowley, published in the same year as his first book, six years before his first regularly published book Blue Juniata. Contributions from Norman Cabot, Grant Code, Jack Merten, Joel T. Rogers, R. Cameron Rogers, Royall Snow, and John Brooks Wheelwright. There had been a previous anthology published in 1917, with poems by Cummings and Dos Passos, hence the title. This copy is very good, spine thumbed, the name Evelyn Whitehouse with date on ffep; lacking the dust jacket.
