Description:
Burton, MI: Subterranean Press, 2002. First Edition. This book was conceived on the brilliant notion that, rather than the artist illustrate the author, the author would "illustrate" the artist, by composing stories around the artist's original conceptions. ETM features the horrifying, exotic, erotic, beautiful ,and to this day, cutting-edge visions of arguably, the best psychological visionary in the field, but you wouldn't get any argument from me. Thirteen tales based upon the artwork which is based upon the theme of "human alteration." Signed by twelve of the thirteen authors, (Shepherd did not sign), the artist; publisher, and designer. One of 250 copies. This was an artist copy, out of sequence. Additionally, included is the chapbook by Potter and Caitlin R. Kiernan, limited to 250 copies, signed by both, which was issued with the limited edition. The Caitlin story was not included in the hardcover, but issued in this booklet, separately.
