A fine copy o an attractive catalogue of parquet floor designs, illustrating different type of decorative floor and contrasting borders; loosely inserted is a printed pr list and a roneo sheet trumpeting the honors of the company which had exhibit variously in London, Vienna, Philadelphia, Melbourne, Paris, and also at the World's Columbian Exposition 1893 in Chicago, receiving commendations from mo and winning the "grand prix" at the Paris show. An uncommon title with only eight copies recorded on OCLC in American librari First published in 1768, Rawlins plans concentrate on both rural and city housing. The patterns are for parsonages, summer retreats, banqueting-rooms, and churches, as well as middle class housing. Many of the designs are Palladian in nature. There is also a chapter on stone masonry, not surprisin as Rawlins, who spent his life in Norwich, was more a successful mason and sculptor than an architect. Schimmelman locates copies in America before 180 A four-page catalogue for J. Taylor's Architectural Library is bound-in. Sympathetically rebacked; light sporadic foxing; else very good. (36841).
