Decorative engraved nineteenth century builder's trade card for F.L. Walters whose shop was located at 13 Paris Street, Exeter. He also sold "Roman cemen chimney tops, urns & vases." Decorated in each corner with chimney tops, urn and column capital. Very good.

Rare trade catalogue, while OCLC does record three other catalogues by this f (each with single copies) our catalogue is not listed by them. A fine copy o an attractive catalogue of parquet floor designs, illustrating different type of decorative floor and contrasting borders; loosely inserted is a printed pr list and a roneo sheet trumpeting the honors of the company which had exhibit variously in London, Vienna, Philadelphia, Melbourne, Paris, and also at the World's Columbian Exposition 1893 in Chicago, receiving commendations from mo and winning the "grand prix" at the Paris show. Very good.

Th wonderful catalogue includes samples of rayon casement, cotton weaves, pure linen, and satin brocades encompassing such patterns as Tarrytown, Baltusrol, Durban, La Salle (yarn-dyed), Regency Faille Taffeta, Woodmere, Vandeveer, an many others. Many of the fabfic swatches reflect the heavy infuence of metal threads and jewel tones of Art Deco influences, as well as a move to many patterns that would be revived in mid-century modern interior designs after World War II. An uncommon title with only eight copies recorded on OCLC in American librari First published in 1768, Rawlins plans concentrate on both rural and city housing. The patterns are for parsonages, summer retreats, banqueting-rooms, and churches, as well as middle class housing. Many of the designs are Palladian in nature. There is also a chapter on stone masonry, not surprisin as Rawlins, who spent his life in Norwich, was more a successful mason and sculptor than an architect.
