Robert B. Roosevelt was on the New York State Fishery Commission. He was also the uncle of Theodore Roosevelt. They lived in identical houses built side by side on E. 20th St. in New York. Robert was an early conservationist and wrote several books on field sports. His influence on the young TR can not be over emphasized given TR's commitment to conservation as a sportsman, reformer and President. Salmon, Trout and some coarse fish too.

Washington DC, 1906. Very good. Cortelyou is responding to Caswell regarding an unnamed address that he had delivered. George Bruce Cortelyou (July 26, 1862 - October 23, 1940) was an American Presidential Cabinet secretary of the early twentieth century, having been appointed to three such posts by President Theodore Roosevelt. Cortelyou served as the first Secretary of Commerce and Labor, from February 18, 1903 to June 30, 1904. He also served as Postmaster General from March 6, 1905 to January 14, 1907 and was the Secretary of the Treasury, all under Theodore Roosevelt. From 1904 through 1907, Cortelyou also served as Chairman of the Republican National Committee, working for the successful re-election of Theodore Roosevelt.

Very good in very good jacket. Jacket had a 1/4" closed tear on the back panel at the bottom and a 3/4 " closed tear at the top of the spine on the front panel. The price has been clipped, and there is a small crease at the bottom of the front flap. There is a spot on the bottom of the front cover which looks like glue, but it is faint. No attempt has been made to remove it. "George Washington: Anguish and Farewell is the fourth and final volume of one of the moat distinguished American biographies of our generation."

Savage, "teacher of music in Bridgton Maine"; "H. J. Collins, South Truro Mass" (Cape Cod) and Marie D. Norman? her comment, "Came with the House'. This is a travel book that has travelled.
