Good-only An intriguing copy of Pink's popular and popularising gardening book, inscribed by Lady Abinger, presumably, to an aspirant (but unidentified) gardener. Helen Scarlett, Lady Abinger (1840-1915) was mother to two extraordinary daughters, Ella Campbell Scarlett (1864-1937), the first woman doctor in Bloemfontein, South Africa and at the Royal Columbian Hospital, Canada, and Evangelina Haverfield (1867-1920), Suffragette, aid worker, and partner of Vera Jack Holme.
