Lot includes: (1) 1979-1980 Perkins Catalog Price List, 24 pages in stapled pale blue wrappers; (2) Instructions in methods of Seat Weaving booklet, 20 pages in stapled beige wrappers; (3) Order sheet with shipping calculation table; (4) Pre-printed return envelope for order. Shipping envelope from Perkins measures 10 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches. GOOD condition.

First Gregg Press edition, reprinted faithfully and completely from the 1950 University of Minnesota Press edition, octavo, pp. 207. Frontis portrait of Wilson & other illustrations. Very good in the publisher's green cloth with gray spine lettering. Dust jacket was not issued with the Gregg Press edition.

Publisher's red cloth stamped in black and gilt, octavo, pp. xv, [xvi], 1-578 plus one leaf of ads. Rich with 3 types of John Leech illustrations: (1) full page colored steel engravings; (2) full page wood engravings; and (3) many smaller wood engravings within the text. Fair condition with cloth faded, especially on spine. Some spots on cloth. Spine ends and board tips rubbed. Half-title page with a tear at the gutter. A few pages unopened at top edge. Some page tips bumped; some marginal foxing and random nicks. Towards the end of the book there is fore-edge margin tearing and crimping, approximately pp. 515-525. About Good, withal. Publication date of 1854 comes from (a) the preface; and (b) Podeschi, Books on the Horse and Horsemanship (New Haven, 1981, p. 185). First issued serially in 17 parts between 1853-1854 (Higginson, British and American Sporting Authors, Berryville, VA, 1949, p. 432).

Limited to 200 copies in blue wrappers, of which this is number 99, small quarto, pp. 38 plus colophon.  Memento from Memorial Services for the poet and editor of The Outlook magazine. Includes prayers, poems, tributes, reminiscences.  Printed at the Bradford Press, Portland, Maine.  GOOD condition with light shelf and handling wear.  Front wrapper nicked at foot of spine. Pinhead sized white spot near top edge.   Some leaves have just light foxing at top edges.  A scarce item, both in trade and institutional holdings, with an April 2023 OCLC search returning Brown University only.

Publisher's textured white wrappers, octavo, serial pagination [43]-84 plus ads. Many pages unopened at their top edges. Cutting them open, if desired, will require a steady hand and a proper sharp implement, neither of which are in our current inventory. GOOD condition. Some leaves with random perimeter nicks. Protected now in a clear new Ultra-Pro display sleeve.

Publisher's stapled card stock wrappers, quarto, [12] leaves. Color illustrations. A facsimile reproduction of the original manuscript in The Huntington Library, San Marino, California. The circa 1835 English manuscript by Thomas Hood (1799-1845) was meant initially as an entertainment for his children. About Very Good condition with light shelf wear and tarnished staples.

Publisher's blue cloth with gold and silver decorative stamping, octavo, pp. x, 470. Tissue-guarded frontispiece and 11 other full-page illustrations by Andre Castaigne. Previous owner name stamped on front and rear paste downs. Board tips shelf-rubbed. Crown of spine nicked and rubbed. Foot of spine likewise nicked and rubbed and also with a small piece of the cloth dangling, like unto a "hanging chad" from the infamous Florida ballots. Our feeling is that this will flake off unless mended. GOOD condition withal. One other note: We're not sure what it says about the state of modern bookselling when as of May, 2020, not one other seller offering a copy of this title has mentioned that it was printed at the venerable De Vinne Press.

Publisher's textured blue cloth with faded spine and upper board lettering, octavo, pp. 117 plus 39 page Appendix plus colophon. Black and white illustrations. This unique copy is from the personal library of Tennessee Newspaper Hall of Fame columnist Bert Vincent and is INSCRIBED to him and his wife by Senator Herbert Walters in the year of publication. Taped onto the front and rear pastedowns are newspaper notices of the death of Senator Walters in 1973. Additionally, taped onto the free front endpaper verso is a cordial letter, folded, to Bert Vincent from Senator Walters's office in Morristown, dated November 4th, 1964, inviting Vincent to a "Welcome Home Reception" for the Senator to be held November 17th of that year at the Talley-Ward building in Morristown. Publisher's tan cloth with green spine and upper board lettering and decorative device, octavo, pp. 188. Illustrations on endpapers and in the text by Helen Blair. Old bookstore stamp at top of title page. Old price or code at top corner of front endpaper. Nick in cloth near foot of spine. GOOD condition withal. Dust jacket FAIR only, with chipping, short tears, and erosion at spine ends and flap fold tips. Several pieces of the jacket paper are missing from spine. Short segment of paper missing from rear panel at top edge.

Publisher's elaborately decorated blue/gray cloth, 12mo, pp. viii, 227. Frontispiece and 13 other illustrations, as called for. The two leaves that separate the two stories are unopened. Shelf rubs at spine ends and board tips. Pin holes near top of free front end paper, as though a clipping was attached long ago. Small old stain on front paste down, mirrored on free front end paper recto (see photo). GOOD condition, withal. See Wright III, 377.

Publisher's printed wrappers, octavo, pp. xx, 274. Many pages unopened. Shelf wear, short tears, & erosion at spine ends and wrapper tips, but a somewhat fragile affair to begin with. Withal, a GOOD sound ensample of an uncommon title.

Publisher's original limp brown wrappers, quarto, pp. 76 + [3]. Black and white illustrations. Designed, printed, and bound by Stone Printing and Manufacturing Company of Roanoke and inscribed on free front endpaper to previous owner by Edward L. Stone, Company president. Yapp wrapper edges with the usual nicks and short creases here and there along perimeter. Several spots of discoloration on rear wrapper.

Publisher's illustrated card-stock wrappers, octavo, pp. 287 + [1]. A few black and white illustrations. A short horizontal tear on pp. 161/162 crimps one word on each side of the leaf (see image for our best attempt at a close-up), otherwise Very Good. Note that this was not a high-budget publication, and our opinion is that even though the leaves are bound snugly and securely at present, repeated wide or hasty rough opening of the book might gradually cause them to loosen from the binding. Best handled with care.

Stately Clarendon Press blue cloth with spine lettering and crest brightly gilt, octavo, pp. xvi, 528. Frontis and four other plates inserted. GOOD with shelf and handling wear. Previous owner name and date on front paste down. Free front endpaper with two old shadows from what may have been clippings attached to the page long ago. Some page tips bumped. Price-clipped dust jacket shelf worn at spine ends. Jacket now in removable mylar sleeve.

Publisher's original glossy red boards, quarto, pp. ix, 758. Black and white illustrations. A preliminary leaf states the book is "Presented with the compliments of ASTRA." Heavy. A tome, indeed.

Date not stated but circa 1850. Publisher's string-tied blue printed wrappers, 16mo (6 1/4 inches in height x 4 inches in width), pp. 192. Frontispiece plus two other steel engraved plates and several additional illustrations in the text. GOOD condition with chipping at spine ends and wrapper tips. A random nick or two along wrapper perimeter. Protected now in a new Ultra-Pro display sleeve.

Publisher's original textured gray wrappers, octavo, pp. 46. Black and white illustrations. Previous owner has made a couple of ink corrections to the text of page 13. GOOD condition with mild shelf and consultation wear.

Publisher's gilt lettered purple cloth back-strip over tan boards with Warren facsimile signature gilt on upper board, octavo, pp. 173. Brick red top stain. Frontis portrait of Dreiser. Biographical summary in chronology form. There appears to be a partial letter "H" rubber-stamped in lavender on the free front endpaper but difficult to tell because endpapers are black.
