London: Herbert Jenkins Ltd, 1941 The authors last book and the twelfth book of the chronicle of a garden started with 'The Garden of Ignorance' in 1913. 285 pages. Colour frontispiece and monochrome plates. Very faint occasional foxing, slight cockle and small chip to spine otherwise very good.

London: James Nisbet, 1904 The Half Hour Library of travel, nature and science for young readers. This is a really interesting book with first class black and white illustrations. Covers the periods from the Phoenicians to Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish Armada. xv, 360pp.

London: Lackington, Hughes, Harding, Mavor and Jones, 1819 With historical and descriptive notices of the Parishes of Ecclesfield, Hansworth, Treeton and Whiston, and of the Chapelry of Bradford. xii, 299pp printed on wire laid paper. Nine full page engraved plates and seven vignettes. Library bound in Buckram with reinforced hinges. Remnants of a library plate to the front pastedown, nominal stamps. A good, sound and clean copy.

Windmill St. Gravesend: Thomas Hall, 1888 82pp, advertising pages fore and aft unumbered. but with interesting material. This is a working copy with ink ammendments in red and black to some somes pages. The population and housing stock figures remain unchanged from the 1886 edition but the unihabited houses have increase from 132 to 444. Something interesting to research? The binding is slack and the front cover detached but all pages are present and correct.

Gravesend: Thomas Hall, 1886 82pp, the advertising pages fore and aft unumbered. The population of Gravesend in 1881 was 22,089 and the number of houses 4019 of which 132 were uninhabited in June 1886. It is interesting to note that the typograhical style deployed in the advertising is still very much in the mid to early 19th century style. This is very much a working copy with ink ticks and crosses with lines through many of the names - either used for political canvassing or updating for futue issues. The spine is shot with many pages loose, but all are present and correct. Needs rebacking.
