There are a few scattered marginal notations in pencil, presumably made by Seferis. 500 copies. Royal 8vo. Title. 676p. No half-title. Bound in full morocco, a.e.g., the spine untitled with the panels densely gilt, covers bordered with rules in gilt and blind. Signed with an inscription in Greek by George Seferis. Seferis (1900-1971), a Greek diplomat, Ambassador to the UK, and one of the Twentieth Century's most important Greek poets, won the 1963 Nobel Prize in literature for "his eminent lyrical writing, inspired by a deep feeling for the Hellenic world of culture", thus the first Greek to have received the prize.
