This is copy 325 of a limited first edition printing of 500 copies (volume 20 of the American Statesmen series). This particular book has probably never been read; or at least never read through. Many of the pages remain uncut at the top. The six steel engraved illustrations, each covered with tissue paper, are in excellent condition as are the pages of text, which appear to be of high quality, high rag content paper. The cover is in poor - fair shape, with much shelf wear along the top and bottom of the spine and splitting along the spine cover and between the covers and the first and last pages.

Slight shelf wear at top of spine and at cover corners and some tonal aging on inside covers. Otherwise book is in fine condition. The unclipped dj ($2.75) has many tears of various sizes and a stain along the verso along the spine. Not only are there a plethora of Herblock cartoons, the narrative that goes with them are inciteful and humorous. .

Rare first edition of this book by Arthur Machen. XIII + 515 pages. All, except the front and back flyleaf pages (heavy age toning and shadowing) are in excellent condition. No tears, folds, marks or foxing/toning. Pages are clear and clean. The cover has issues. Fraying along the front side of the spine and the top and bottom of the spine. The rear side of the spine is slightly frayed and there is buckling on the back cover. There is a bookplate on the inside front cover and a very small book seller's sticke at the bottom of the back inside cover. The Sime illustrations on the front cover and spine have largely held their colors. (see photos).

First edition in overall good condition despite being ex library. cover has shelf wear at edged and corners and especially at top and bottom of spine. The American Library Dj, is quite worn with tears and frays but has managed not to fall apart. tHE flaps have been glued to the book so we cannot show photos of the cover; however, we could see that the title still shows clearly on the front cover and spine. Inside front cover and adjacent fly-leaf page are full of date stamps. First half dozen pages have smudging. Remaining pages have few faults. All pages are legible, large majority are clear and clean excepting light age toning. Rob Eden wrote over 30 novels in the 30's and 40's. Rare trrue first edition, first printing, never previously published. In excellent condition. A Gold Medal Book. Very light wear at top of cover spine and spine front edge. Age toning at page edges. Tight binding. All pages clear and unmarked. It is unlikely one could find a mid 20th century cheap pocketbook in better condition. .

This is a rare first American edition of the translated French work
entitled "Henri Matisse - Dessins" (published in 1967). Translated by Michael Ross. The book has several condition faults; however, the images on the plates are still clear and vibrant. Although a few have issues at the lower margin that do not effect the images.The linen-like cover over boards shows some fading along the edges and spine and very light wear at the corners. There is also a water stain at the bottom quarter of the back cover. The stain shows up to a much lesser degree on the back endpapers but does not show on any of the images. The dj is much soiled with some tears and small gouges.

Rare catalogue describing 72 items from the York University collection, with b&w photos. Unpaginated. The pamphlet is in excellent condition except for some soiling on the cover and the top of the beginning pages. also a small chip at the top of the spine.
