Hanging calendar, 5 3/8 x 9 3/8 inches. 12 sheets printed in fine chromolithography on heavy card, each with a month's calendar, an illustration and other decorative elements on the recto, and an advertisement for Hall & Carpenter roofing tin on the verso. Fine.

Oblong folio, cloth with gold-lettered black lealther labels, cloth covered clamshell case, with text consisting of an introduction by Bernarda Bryson Shahn, copy of a letter in French from Fernand Mourlot, the text of Psalm 150, and 50 lithographs, including 24 illustrations, and 26 lithographs of Hebrew calligraphy, 24 relating to the illustrations, and 2 as title and tailpiece. Unsigned, as always, as Shahn died before completion of the work, and it was issued posthumously. Typography by Spiral Press, binding and case by Moroquain Bindery, New York. A lavish production, in Fine condition throughout.

Grossmann, Walter. (American, born Germany c. 1890s - 1980s) HAND. Drawing, Colored pencils on paper, circa 1914-16. 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches. In very good condition, but with some creases and spots of foxing.This drawing was part of an archive of this artist's works. From the materials in the archive we have concluded that Walter Grossman was born in Germany, studied art, served in the German army in World War I, eventually came to America and became a physician in Connecticut. We do not believe that he had a professional career as an artist, but his work shows profciency, and an appreciation for the art movements of the early 20th Century. It appears that the materials were stored under poor conditions for a long time, and some have suffered, with wrinkling, foxing, paper losses, and dampstaining affecting some.

Near Mint with very minimal spindle evidence, and with surfaces bright and unmarked. Cloth covered box with a few spots of soiling, else Near Mint. Rare.

Metalwork. HAND-FORGED IRON CHAIN. TWO PIECES. One 34 inch piece comprising nine four-inch links, and the second, 21 inch piece, with six links. In very good condition.

Dine, Jim. THE HANDPAINTED PORTRAIT ON THIN FABRIANO PAPER. D'Oench and Feinberg 44. Etching, Drypoint and electric tools, 1979. Edition of 6 (there were three Artist's Proofs and one Printer's Proof), signed and dated in pencil and numbered "1/6." Printed once in brown and once in black, and then colored by hand in pink, blue, green, yellow, and flesh-colored oil paints between the printings, and then with white grease-crayon after printing. 14 3/8 x 13 7/8 inches, 366 x 353 mm. (plate), 30 5/8 x 22 7/8 inches, 778 x 581 mm. (sheet). Printed by Ami Rosenberg at Burston Graphic Center, Jerusalem, and published by Pace Editions. There are two printer's creases original to the work, faint mat discoloration around the image, and rippling of the paper likely due the variety of media used in the coloring; nevertheless an excellent example of Dine's experimentation and risk-taking as a printmaker.
