Description:
New York: John Day Co., 1931. Cloth. Very good/fair. Fujikawa, Gyo. Unpaginated (approx. 51p.) Signed by author (as Doppy) and illustrator on front endpaper. Light wear to top and bottom of spine with bookseller's label on back pastedown, in scarce but tattered jacket. During the 1960s and beyond, Fujikawa's groundbreaking illustrations for children's books depicted diverse groups of children together. Despite objections from her publisher and critics, her books continue to delight children. This, her first experience providing children's book illustrations, was completed while still a student at the Chouinard Art Institute. One of the first books authored by noted psychologist Baruch. Black & red lithographs by Gyo Fujikawa. (8-1/2"x6-1/2")
