From John.” Winters played the part of Natalia Landauer, for which she won a Tony award. Based on Isherwood’s Berlin Stories, the play was made into a movie (with Shelley Winters as Landauer) and formed the basis for the musical and film Cabaret. With two programs for the play.

New York: Harcourt, Brace, 1945. First Edition. Bookplate; Near fine in a very good dust jacket. This copy has been signed by the author and the original New York cast, most prominently including a young Marlon Brando.

New York: Dutton, 1947. First Edition; advance copy of the author's first book in publisher’s wrappers. Aside from a small chip at the bottom of the spine and the front wrapper, very good. Before the book made the trip from the printer to the bindery, the publisher bound the sheets in the dust jacket, without the flaps. These were certainly issued in small numbers for limited distribution to booksellers, reviewers and salespeople. The latter decades of the 20th century brought a deluge of advance copies as these became inexpensive to produce and release in huge numbers, but those from an earlier period, uncommon to begin with, often perished due to their ephemeral nature.

New York: Dutton, 1947. First Edition of the author's first book. Very good plus in a dust jacket with considerable tape reinforcement along the interior top and bottom edges, else very good. Nicely inscribed by the author, “To...It’s been a long time since Mike Hammer was born in this book, but he’s still as big as ever. I hope you still enjoy him. Sincerely - Mickey Spillane.”

New York: M. Witmark & Sons, 1905. Sheet music from the stage production, with music by Manuel Klein. The same color lithographed cover was presumably used for all the separately issued musical numbers. The show was originally titled “Tomorrowland.” BAL 770 (this was one of four, out of sixteen songs, that the editors were unable to locate); creases, stains and tears, a good copy.
