Soil and slight rubbing to wraps, patches of dampstain to rear wrap, also lightly affecting top corner of last text leaf, and a small dampstain to bottom edge throughout. Separating at the heel and crown, but the internal illustrations are fresh.

1857. (JUVENILE). JACK, THE GIANT KILLER. Philadelphia: Willis P. Hazard, 1857. Seven full-page wood-engravings, plus one illustration to each cover, are printed in color. 16pp. 8vo., illustrated flexible cloth covers, printed entirely on cloth. This book is advertised on its front cover as being one of Hazard's everlasting and indestructible toy books, and it is true. This book appears to have received a great deal of attention, as it is rather heavily soiled throughout, with a medium-size stain to the fore-edge of the covers and a few of the leaves; yet it remains firmly bound and is easy to read.

The Jahrbuch was a yearly survey of contemporary developments in European visual arts that was published from 1920 to 1924. This is the first issue. It is comprised of many articles illustrated with many quality black and white reproductions, and eight original prints. The original prints include four lithographs, one each by Max Pechstein (Fischerhafen), Erich Waske (Sonnenaufgang), Max Burchartz (Frau vor dem Fenster), and Josef Eberz (Versohnung). three woodcuts, one each by E. Adam Weber (Am Brunnen), Lyonel Feininger (Buttelstedt), Franz Nitzsche-Niitzsche (Lied), and a linoleum cut by Wilhelm Morgner (Bartiger Mann).
