Description:
Van Nuys, CA: Alfred Publishing Company, 1988. Paperback quarto, very good condition, lay-flat binding, minor edgewear corners, crease top corner front cover. 143 pp. Text and sheet music. This book consists of the six harpsichord suites known as the "French Suites" composed by J. S. Bach (1685 - 1750) between 1722 and 1725 in the German city of Cothen (Kothen, Saxony), where he spent six productive and happy years as Capellmeister in the court of Prince Leopold, producing some of his best known works. The only copies of the French suites in Bach's own hand surviving today were found in a music notebook, possibly a gift to his wife Anna Magdalena on her birthday in 1722, shortly after their marriage. The present edition has been newly researched. The autograph and all the manuscripts were carefully studied by the editor.

Auckland: Allen & Unwin, 2020. Reprint ed.. Paperback octavo, very good condition, colour photos, few tiny scratches rear cover, minor edgewear, autograph (author's written name). 287 pp. Michelle Duff tracks the political career of Jacinda Ardern from being dismissed as a show pony, to her compassion during one of New Zealand's biggest tragedies, the Christchurch mosque terror attack of 2019. In its aftermath, Arden has become a global icon for her strength and decisiveness while uniting a country in shock and mourning. This is an engrossing and powerful look at one of the most fascinating political stories of our time which tells us as much about one young woman's ascendancy as it does about the country that elected her.
