Near Fine binding. 10 gelatin silver prints each with the embossed photographer's motif on the recto; an autochrome color plate is tipped in to the inside from cover. Each silver print is a printed folder with a "window" and protected with a tissue guard (one tissue guard has loss and an old scotch tape repair). Numbered 20 "in a worldwide edition of 7500". There is a handsomely printed and illustrated pamphlet by Lartigue. The printed reproduction label attached to the case lining is signed by Lartigue. Housed in an embossed pale blue velvet covered case with marbled paper lining. The top and bottom edges of the "drop-box" tray have been quite discreetly repaired with matching japanese tissue. Orrock was one of the significant 19th century Scots collectors of art; himself an artist, he did much to promote the work of Turner, and of British art in general. His reputation has been diminished by the revelation after his death that some of the paintings in his collection were in fact forgeries. sThis two volume set of heft quartos has some scattered foxing, but still a sumptuous set in cream-cloth stamped with gilt decorations. Previous owner bookplates on the pastedowns. Very Good+ binding.

Minor chips and closed tears to the preliminaries, with no loss to the text. Neatly rebound in red cloth with black leather labels, with the original paper wrappers bound in.
