[New York-?]: [Rebecca Nestle], 2016. Paperback. 301p., illustrated with b&w period photography (mostly early portraits), softbound in 9x6 inch glossy black photo-decorated wraps. "Originally published as J. Abrams-Buch, edited by El Centro Cultural Israelita de México and printed by La Voz Israelita de México in 1956"-- back cover. For distributing leaflets deemed seditious, Abrams, Mollie Steimer and several others were convicted and deported from the U.S. to Russia in 1921. Abrams was exiled again, living in Mexico from 1927 to his death in 1953.

New York: Coward-McCann, 1969. Hardcover. 326p., first American edition, hardbound in cloth boards and enclosed in the dust jacket. The book itself is quite sound, clean and free of any markings, but the metallic titling on its spine panel is very faded and dim. The dust jacket's spine is also sunned, with some dimming of letters printed red; the larger effect on cloth beneath makes little sense, unless the ink or metallic source used on the spine was of poor stock.

Two horizontal folds; minor splitting along the lower fold starting at the spine. Good. Jerome Bonaparte Squier was called "the Stradivarius of America." Announces that, after 20 years, Squier is relocating from Boston to his country home. Most of the text consists of testimonials from 1881-1907.

London: Faber and Faber, 1972. Hardcover. 109p., first edition in boards and unclipped dj; the half-title bears a light small smudge, else near-fine in all respects. Caribbean author's third novel.

San Francisco: Japantown Art & Media Workshop, 1986. Newsletter. [14 pg.] newsletter, 7" x 8.5". Tear on upper left corner, else very good. Describes different classes offered by the workshop, a short story by a Vietnamese American student attending junior high in Oakland, advertisements for local events, and a four panel comic by Jason Leong. From 1977 to 2000, the Japantown Art & Media Workshop hosted workshops, created designs for other community organizations and events, and acted as a space for different artists to work together.

San Francisco: Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Northern California, 1986. Pamphlet. 8p. pamphlet, 7x 8.5 inches, very good. A newsletter from the Japantown-based non-profit organization. Among the contributors to the capital campaign were the famed activist and union organizer couple, Karl and Elaine Yoneda. The construction of the JCCCNC was completed in 1986, following support from then-mayor Dianne Feinstein. The Center was later visited by the Emperor and Empress of Japan during their tour of the US.

New York: American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, 1942. Magazine. Issues 1 and 2 of the staplebound digest, 8 pages each, vertical fold crease. 5.5x8 inches. Updates on efforts to ameliorate the plight of Jews in Europe, including aid to refugees who had already fled the continent.

Hardcover. 255p., illustrated with two b&w photos, a frontis portrait of Hill and a Dealey Plaza frame showing both the site where she stood, and the knoll. Second printing, hardbound in plastikoid black boards titled in bright red, and enclosed in the dust jacket. A very good to fine copy in every respect: perfectly sound, clean and unmarked. An account that those amongst us interested in 22 Nov 63, liked very much.

A novel set in Puerto Rico. The author lives in Miami.

[Twin Cities campus, University of Minnesota]: [Baker campaign for Minnesota Students Association], 1971. 8.5x14 inch poster with ironic photo of Baker holding an apple pie and a bible while standing next to a mom and a child under an American flag. A close look will spot an ecological activist poster in the background. Very good; photo by Paul R. Hagen. Baker, a law student, won the election in what he hailed as a victory for "sophistication" among the student body. In 1970, Baker and his partner had applied for a marriage license in Minnesota, had been denied on grounds that two men could not marry, and challenged the decision in the courts with the result that they obtained the first known lawful same-sex marriage certificate in the United States in 1971, the same year as this election. Baker's campaign featured several humorous posters, another one of which can be seen on the Wikipedia page devoted to him.
