Kappa Kappa Kappa, Hanover, New Hampshire, 1942. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 0x0x0. Hardcover, 1942. 231 pages. A centenary history (1842 to 1942) of Kappa Kappa Kappa, the Dartmouth local fraternity. Tri-Kap is the oldest local fraternity in the United States. In 2022 (after decades of discussion and debate) the fraternity officially changed its name to Kappa Pi Kappa, to avoid inevitable but incorrect associations with the racist, terrorist group that shared the same English letters acronym (KKK). Full bound light green cloth boards, with gilt lettering and design in a large dark green oval on the front board and spine. Some general surface and edge wear, including some fraying of the cloth at the head and heel of the spine; the spine has also browned a bit. Corners lightly bumped. Previous owner's name "Herman B Noyes" in ink to front free endpaper; "Noyes, H B 1921" is listed in the Member Index. Binding is solid and square.

Recorded Books, 2007. Good. Unabridged audiobook, Recorded Books. 2007, ISBN 1428142495. Unabridged audiobook on 10 cassettes; 11.5 hours. Narrated by Henry Strozier. Ex-lib with typical markings and wear. From Publishers Weekly review: "Hogan's fourth novel (after the Hammett Awardâwinning Prince of Thieves) convincingly and movingly brings alive the dying Massachusetts community of Black Falls, which is plagued by a brain drain and by a corrupt, if small, police force. Oddly, Maddox becomes a part-time auxiliary policeman, clashing often with his superiors. The author soon reveals Maddox's hidden agenda...
