Color-illustrated pictorial wrappers, small quarto, pp. [14]. Translated from the Russian by Valentina Jacque. Illustrated and designed by Liya Mayorova. Light wear and rubbing to wrappers and their edges. Spine ends and wrapper tips bumped mildly. Some foxing to page edges. Old price sticker removal shadow near top of front panel. The 7 pop-ups are bright and fully functional, in Very Good condition and without tears.

First edition, so stated, in the publisher's patterned cloth with yellow spine label, octavo, pp. 319 plus colophon. Cloth has some uneven sun exposure and the spine label is worn with age and handling. GOOD condition withal. Wanting the dust jacket.

Publisher's gilt stamped brown cloth with an upper board action scene, octavo, pp. 263. No publication date mentioned, but circa 1890s. Illustrations by W. H. Margetson. Decorative pattern endpapers and decorative blue page edge stain. GOOD with rubbing to spine ends and board tips. Front hinge just beginning to exhibit signs of tenderness. Upper board fore-edge extends ever so slightly beyond lower board fore-edge, as in an overbite.

Publisher's blue/green cloth with black spine and upper board lettering (faded), octavo, pp. 159. Black and white illustrations. GOOD condition with a one inch snag in the cloth on spine, and a small loss of margin paper at the bottom tip of pp. 127/128 (no loss of text). A few other light scuff marks on the exterior.

First printing, so stated, in the publisher's white cloth over black boards with front panel author facsimile signature gilt, octavo, pp. 303. Spotting on cloth spine akin to foxing shows more readily than if publisher had chosen a darker color than white. Dust jacket erosion at spine ends and flap fold points and random nicks & short tears along perimeter. A splash of coffee or tea during pre-mylar days has left a tideline on the jacket's rear panel, but now protected against further wear by removable Brodart. This volume best thought of as a Reading Copy. The Alabama author's seventeenth book.

Third edition, in the publisher's original black cloth with silver spine and upper board lettering, octavo, pp. x, 333. Two generous sections of black and white illustrations. Dust jacket has light chipping /shelf rubbing at spine crown and flap fold tips. Jacket now in a removable sheet of protective mylar.

Publisher's blue cloth with somewhat dulled gold spine lettering, octavo, pp. 231. Photographic end papers. Mild shelf wear. A few random spots of discoloration on covers. Some bottom page tips towards the end of the book are bumped. GOOD condition, withal.

Publisher's glossy boards, oblong octavo, pp. 40. Illustrated in color throughout.

Publisher's decorated green boards with gilt spine title, octavo, pp. xii, 463, [1], pp. 4 of ads. Frontis illustration. Rubbing to board tips and spine ends. Color has dulled over the decades. Some light foxing. Withal, weary but still dignified and serviceable.

Hardcover, octavo, pp. 128. Previous owner gift inscription on front endpaper. Front hinge starting but holding firm. Bottom front board tip rubbed through and a bit frayed. Old red dot on bottom edge near spine. Withal, about GOOD and sound but best thought of as a Reading copy.

Uncommon Corrected Proofs. Wraps, octavo, pp. 238. SIGNED and dated by the author in the year of publication. A small rubbed spot at crown of spine (see Photo 5), and a small shelf mark near bottom fore-edge (see Photo 7), else Very Good in the publisher's pale green cardstock wrappers.

First edition, so stated, and signed by the author on the title page, octavo, pp. 238.

Publisher's beige cloth with black spine lettering, octavo, pp. xii, 209.

Publisher's variegated green cloth with gilt spine lettering and decorations. Top edge gilt. Title page illustration of Scott and 5 tissue-guarded plates inserted. This octavo volume is from set Number 436 of The Standard Edition, which was Limited to 1,000 sets of the Novels and Poems of Scott. Previous owner name in a neat hand on the front paste down. Owner has also left interesting pencil notes on the paste down indicating she Purchased the book in December 1910; Read it in January 1912; and Read it in November 1922. Very Good with just light shelf wear.

First edition, octavo, pp. 504 plus [1] leaf ads. Frontispiece and five other illustrations by A. I. Keller. Moderate wear, as with age and handling, but GOOD and sound in the publisher's blue cloth with gilt spine lettering and a white and gilt spine door knocker decorative device. Upper board lettering in gilt and white with chandelier decorative piece. White lettering on upper board a bit faded. Withal, a serviceable FIRST EDITION copy eager for a re-reading. See BAL 18250.

Blue cloth with spine and upper board lettering gilt, octavo, pp. xii, 480. Foxing and dust jacket flap offsetting on endpapers. Previous owner name and date on front paste-down and initials on free front endpaper. Mild shelf rubbing. Light spotting on bottom edge. Dust jacket rubbed and soiled lightly on rear panel. Keylock's Dams of Winners coverage series dates from 1915 (see WELLS, Horsemanship: A Bibliography of Printed Materials from the Sixteenth Century through 1974, #1759).

Publisher's green cloth with silver spine lettering, octavo, pp. x, 309.

12mo, pp 10 + [2 leaves]. Near Fine in the publisher's white ribbon-tied wraps with black upper wrap printing and bird silhouette. Ensconced in a clear protective display sleeve with white cardstock backing board. A scarce title, both in trade and in institutional holdings, with a May 2019 OCLC search showing University of Nebraska Kearney and Wayne State only.

Wraps, octavo, pp. 71 plus colophon. Inscribed warmly by author on the title page. Very good in the publisher's illustrated wrappers.
