The sale item is a collection of letters by Gibran that span a period from 1904 to 1930 and "truly constitute a self-portrait in the time of his greatest productivity." Published as part of a series of all the books by and about Gibran, it was translated from the Arabic and edited by Anthonty R. Ferris. Stated third paperbound edition from August 1969. This title is a humorous 'account of the exploits of the Home Guard on the islands of Great Todday and Little Todday.' Published in 1943, this is the stated fifth impression of the first edition. Blue cloth binding with gold lettering on spine only. Binding tight, square, and clean but has a noticeable water mark on the back board. Dust jacket is bright and clean but has been clipped, has been slightly worn at top and bottom of spine. Hinges on both front and back boards have been worn and partially separated; repairs and restorations have been made. Noticeable half-inch chip at the fore edge of the front board area. Now Brodart covered to prevent further deterioration. 214 pages.
