The plates are of architectural subjects and are credited thus: Phot. Alinari, Florence. They are numbered I through LIX, but plate V is missing. The plates are captioned, but there is no accompanying text within the portfolio, although other copies in the marketplace appear to have a text by Chiesa. The architecture is of the Ticino region, southwestern Switzerland, mainly inhabited by Italians. The plates are not dated, but outside scenes often include a horse and buggy, and women in long skirts. The portfoilio itself is printed with author and title and a small frieze on top, and is in rubbed, cracked condition. The plates are in Fine condition. Switzerland.
