A Fair only copy, of a scarce book. The covers are dulled and have various handling marks including some white marks to back. The pages are well bound and mostly good, no inscriptions, occasional spots and small marks, , tanned closed edges. Pictures available.

With attractive colour lithograph illustrations on each page by Josette Boland, with text in French opposite. Verse story of angels, children and Christmas. Very Good in Good jacket. Clean pages with light browning, some rust to staples. Jacket browned and marked with rubbed edges and lower front flap missing, and tear to front fold edge.

With 26 hand-coloured engravings in plates showing various female dress costumes, and 20 b&w engravings in plates (incl. frontispiece) with tissue-guards, depicting dramatic figure scenes, portraits and landscapes, and a vignette to title page. All plates present (collated). Fair to Good condition overall. Pages and plates generally very good, some browning and marking in places, and staining to some lower margins; the covers are poor however, with frayed spine having no leather left, and the front board (and adjoining prelims) detached (present). The text includes articles by various authors on Birds, Butterflies and Moths, Flora, Geology, Fox-hunting, Mountaineering, Yachting, Motor-Boating, Fishing, Shooting and Cycling plus a Gazetteer.
