Bordas, Paris, 1949. The complete three-volume anthology of poems by Tristan Tzara, comprising of 23 etchings in color. Eight colored etchings by Max Ernst (Volume I), Seven by Yves Tanguy (Volume II), Eight by Joan Miro (Volume III) encased in a black box with large geometric mosaic decorations adorning the covers. It took Tzara 16 years to complete the poems for all three volumes, starting in 1916 and finishing in 1932. Limited edition of 200 copies, of which this is one of 169 in Auvergne. Illustrated with a dry point in black printed on Japanese paper for the cover, and with 5 original full-page color etchings by Joan MIRÓ. Limited edition in 145 numbered copies on Rives vellum, signed in pencil by the artist in justification page, copy number 20. In artistic binder, chemise and slipcase, signed by François Levy-Bauer. The binder is mosaicked in black, red, green and blue, on ocher morocco after a Miró drawing, the original binder in Japanese paper with black dry point is well preserved inside.

Paris, Éditions de l'atelier Crommelynck, 1971. La tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea, known as La Celestina, novel attributed to Fernando de Rojas published in 1499, illustrated by Picasso with 66 etchings with aquatints, dated in plate, between April 11 and August 19 1968, unsigned. The etchings done for la Celestine are part of the 347 series, Picasso worked to the etchings almost daily with Aldo and Pietro Crommelynck, at their atelier in Mougins, using different techniques. After the impressions were pulled, 66 etchings were chosen by Picasso to illustrate La Celestine. The character of La Celestine was first portrayed by Picasso on a painting in 1903. Limited numbered editions in 400 copies on Richard de Bas laid paper, watermarked La Celestine. Copy n 48 signed on justification page by Picasso in pencil. Bound in parchment board, protective jacket and slipcase. Ref: Cramer 149. Complete and in very good condition.

Moselly, Émile. Pissarro, Camille Illustrator. Eragny Press for Le Livre Contemporain, Paris, 1912. Limited edition on 116 copies numbered. Illustrated with 12 wood engravings, hors texte in two-tone colors, especially drawn by Camille Pissarro for this edition. "The twelve plates hors texte were designed by Camille Pissarro to be cut as chiaroscuro blocks by his son Lucien. After Camille's death the text was provided to accompany the plates. In designing the book, Lucien wherever possible adapted sketches by his father for the other illustrations. Lucien's Studio Book records that most of the large blocks were cut and proofed before Camille's death in 1903" (The Artist & the Book 247). The portfolio is one of the 15 copies numbered in Roman numbers, printed on Japan paper, from a total edition of 120. It includes six etchings, of which three in colors, two woodcuts, of which one in colors, and one lithograph in colors. Seven prints are signed in pencil, all nine prints are numbered VI/XV. The original prints are from the following artists: Jean Arp, Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti (two prints), Andre Masson, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Jacques Villon, Zao Wou-ki. The portfolio is complete as issued and guarded in the original linen box.

La Revue Blanche Complete collection of 237 issues of the Parisian series of the French literary and artistic magazine (October 1891 April 15, 1903). The magazines are guarded in 30 clam-shell boxes in beige cloth, each with title, number, and years of the magazines included. One volume in large format collects the lithographic plates out of text of the magazines, including 18 original lithographs by Bonnard, Toulouse-Lautrec, Redon, Vuillard, Denis, and others. La Revue Blanche was initially founded in Liège in December 1889 by the Natanson brothers and Félix Fénéon, and then moved to Paris in October 1891. La Vida es Sueno (Life is a dream), the medieval play by Pedro Calderón de la Barca deals with the philosophical struggle between fate and free will. The themes of dreams vs reality appealed to surrealist extraordinaire Salvador Dali, who created 16 full-page etchings for this illustrated edition. It was published by E. Subirana in Barcelona in 1975 and is one of the 75 copies in Arches paper, from a total edition of 265 numbered copies, signed in pencil on justification page by Dali. This complete portfolio with text by Calderón de la Barca along with all 16 of Dali's etchings signed in plate. It is accompanied with a suite of 10 etchings printed in sanguine.
