First edition in the Rare ORIGINAL Plain printed wrappers.1 of 400 numbered copies on papier Arches [of 425]. Majestically illustrated by Foujita with numerous colour in-texte and full page format drawings each pasted delicately on the paper. A very good or better example of this scarce, precious and much sought after work. Of the entire edition, 55 copies were printed on Japon Imperial, [of which 25 are numbered 1-25, 25 lettered A-Z with an original eau forte, & 5 H-C]. In addition, 65 copies were printed on Hollande Van Gelder , [of which 50 are numbered 26-75 & 15 H-C]. 425 copies were printed on Arches of which 400 are numbered 76-475 & 25 H-C. This lovely copy is example, # 149, is therefore one of the 400 [of 425] copies on Arches. [Total copies, all papers, 545: 55 Japon, 65 Holland, 425 Arches] A very Good copy indeed.
