Description:
McVICAR BY HIMSELFby JOHN McVICAR1st edition 1st impression (with Erratum slip)Hardback with dust jacket both in very good condition. This autobiographical book was written by a reformed crime lord portrayed in the gritty British movie McVICAR starring Roger Daltry of The Who. The Erratum slip on Contents page proves first issue/impression. A rare book showing light use wear but still presentable. Former owner's signature to fep of John Mellar? (Hellar? Mellor?) of Leicester dated 1975. Book pages clean and tidy, none turned at corners. Former owner made light pencil marks at points of text, as though they were points of note, suggesting that perhaps they had some interest in or connection to McVicar. Normally these pencil marks would be gently erased but in this case there may be some link of the named former owner to the story itself, so they are left for others to research.
